ESTONIAN SINFONIETTA XX SUURE-JAANI MUSIC FESTIVAL!

On June 17th until 23rd the traditional music festival dedicated to the composer Kapp will be held in Suure-Jaani, where more than 30 events will be attended by audiences.
The week will accommodate a musical worship, an opera performance, Jaanus Siim's photo exhibition, the Mart Saar Vocal Competition, Villem Kapp Composing Contest "New Song," numerous distinctive concerts in the cafe “Arturi Juures”, where interpreters and composers talk about music and their work.

The most extraordinary concert of the festival - the Sunrise Concert - will take place on the night of June 23rd, at 3 AM on the newly built stage of the Hüpassaare bog island, where Estonian Sinfonietta and soloists Ingrid Paul (recorder, Germany), Arvo Leibur (violin) and Aare Tammesalu (cello) play instrumental concerts by Antonio Vivaldi and, of course, works by the composers Artur and Villem Kapp. The concert will be conducted by Alexander Prior, the chief conductor of Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (England), who in 2009 graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatoire with the Master’s degree only at the age of 17.
Intercessions are performed by Aare Tammesalu, the initiator of the idea of the bog concert.

The musicians of Estonian Sinfonietta will perform two additional concerts at the Suure-Jaani Music Festival as the Festival Orchestra Concerto bachFest.

On June 17th at 5 PM a concert dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation will be held in Suure-Jaani Church, where, together with Chamber Choir Collegium Musicale and soloists Karin Helstein (soprano), Annely Leinberg (alto), Endrik Üksvärav (tenor) and Andreas Väljamäe (bass) under the conductor Endrik Üksvärav will be performed Cantata "Ein Feste Burg” by Johann Sebastian Bach.

On the Summer Solstice on June 21st at 6 PM the orchestra will play at the Vanaõue Holiday Center together with soloists Oksana Sinkova (flute), Daniel Kogan (violin, Russia) and Lembit Saarsalu (saxophone). The program includes a flute concert by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, violin concerto “The Summer” by Antonio Vivaldi, and arrangements of songs by Olav Ehala. The concertmaster of the Estonian Sinfonietta is Arvo Leibur.
